This course took place at St Peters Church. Photographer and Community artist Allie Carr led a ten-week introduction to photography using traditional SLR cameras and digital cameras.
Participants were able to explore ways of composing photographs, choosing subjects, creating a series of images and manipulating single images with Photoshop. The participants were encouraged to review and talk about their work throughout the course. Participants experiment with different cameras and took photos in their spare time in between sessions.
The final session involved mounting work for display at the exhibition. Carl Rose, a professional photographer who works for the Burngreave Messenger, made a visit during one of the sessions. At least one of the participants has continued onto a higher level course in photography since completing this beginner course.
