On March 14th 2007, the third annual Burngreave Business Event was held at Verdon Recreation Centre in Burngreave, culminating in the presentation of the Burngreave Business Awards.
The Burngreave Enterprise Event and Business Awards are now recognised as a landmark calendar date in the local business diary. The whole day is geared toward not only providing direct business support, help and advice it is about recognising that Burngreave has some outstanding businesses that deserve recognition.
There were over 50 applications received from 36 different businesses or business people, all vying for one of the eight awards.
The awards are organised and sponsored by Burngreave New Deal for Communities, Burngreave Business Forum with additional sponsorship from Business Link South Yorkshire. Each award was also sponsored by an outside agency or business.

It's really good to be recognised in the way we have been. This was the first time we had entered the awards and the event really gave us a lift. We will be telling people about the awards and of the good work that goes on in Burngreave. Amanda Boughton-Brown from Burngreave Children's Centre, shortlisted for both the Community Impact and Training & Development awards.
The Awards are an excellent event. You can really feel the buzz in the community in the lead up to them and afterwards. The feel-good factor alone is worth its weight in gold. Lee Furness, BBF Committee member
