Burgreave Annual Festive Party
Venue: Verdon Street Recreation Centre
An extra sparkle is being added over the festive period for children in Burngreave who are set to attend a series of specially organised fun parties.
Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) along with partners Burngreave Sports Network, Sheffield Futures, Area Panel, Street Work Project, Burngreave Drugs Project, Community Wardens, have planned three parties for children in the area, at Verdon Recreation Centre on Verdon Street.
The times are:
5-8 year olds. Saturday 17 December, 1pm-3pm
9-12 year olds. Saturday 17 December, 4pm-6pm
13-19 year olds. Friday 30 December, 7pm-10pm
Being a multi-cultural event, the parties are not just for Christmas but to celebrate the festive period in general at this time of year.
Volunteers will be on hand to provide the activities and a variety of entertainment suitable for the children and young people will be available. The younger ones will be kept amused by a play bus and face painting. Games will also be the focus for the second age group who will also have the chance to dance along to a disco. The evening party will see a DJ, prize give-aways and a competition keeping the teenagers happy.
Food and refreshments will be on offer.
Ali Abdi, from BNDfC's Community Engagement Team said: "The festive fun parties provide an opportunity for children, young people and families from the diverse communities of Burngreave to get together and enjoy something that they may not usually have access to.
“We are really looking forward to them and hope as many people as possible will come along.”
