Services at the Children's Centre

Burngreave Children's Centre offers:

Family Support – Our Family Support Team can offer help in times of short-term crisis, help families access services, provide an Advice Service, and also run the popular Positive Parenting Programme. If you wish to access our Family Support service you can be assessed at one of our weekly drop-ins (Wednesdays from 9am to 12.30pm at Burngreave Children's Centre, or Thursdays from 9am to 12.30pm at Owlerbrook School on Wensley Street) – Home Visits can be provided for people with special needs.

Health – We offer many health services including antenatal sessions (for pregnant women) and postnatal sessions, a breastfeeding cafe and ongoing support, help to stop smoking, baby massage, two community clinics, healthy eating advice, health and exercise classes and more!

Nursery – We have a 30 place nursery within the centre taking children from 3 months to 5 years – for an application form for a nursery place contact 252 5224.

Parental Involvement and Volunteering – We try to get both mums and dads involved in our Parent and Toddler group, Mums and Tots and Young Mums groups, which are an opportunity for your children to mix with others while you relax and meet other parents. We also want parents to have their say in the running of the programme through our Parents Forum and would welcome more parents to become involved as volunteers in all our work.

See our groups and activities page for full details of what we are currently running!

Events – We have fantastic events for young children and their families. For example we've had an End of Year Party, Library Fun Day, Mums' Pampering Day, International Dads' Day and lots more! See our events page to see what we've got coming up!
