Local parent and mobile creche provider, Tracey Sparkes, won a place in Sheffield City Council's 2006 New Year's Honours Awards. Tracey received this honour for all her hard work ‘over and above the call of duty’ in providing an excellent creche at Firs Hill and elsewhere in the community, as well as her other voluntary work around Burngreave, at Byron Wood school and Christchurch.
