Festive fun for Burngreave

An extra sparkle is being added to festivities over the Christmas period for children and young people in Burngreave who are set to attend a series of specially organised fun parties.

Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC), along with partners, has planned a three parties one day event for children in the area and young people, on Saturday 18 December at the Spectrum Centre, Brunswick Road in Burngreave.

The times are:

  • 4-8 years olds from 11am-1pm

  • 9-12 year olds from 2.30pm-4.30pm

  • 13-19 year olds from 7.30pm-10pm

A multi-cultural event, the parties are not just for Christmas but to celebrate the festive period in general at this time of year.

Volunteers will be on hand to provide the activities and a variety of entertainment suitable for the children and young people will be available. Throughout the day, the younger ones will be kept amused by a clown, play bus, bouncy castle and face painting. Games will also be the focus for the second age group who will also have the chance to have their picture taken in a limousine. The evening party will see a DJ and prize give-aways keeping the teenagers happy.

Food and refreshments will be on offer and each guest will receive a gift.

Leroy Betts, BNDfC's Community Engagement Manager, said: "The festive fun parties provide an opportunity for children, young people and families from our community to get together and enjoy something that they may not usually have access to, whatever their religion.

“We are really looking forward to them and hope as many people as possible will come along.”

If you want to come along or find out more information about the festive parties please contact the BNDfC Information Shop, 131 Spital Hill or call 292 0464.

The festive fun parties are being organised by BNDfC in partnership with the following organisations: Community Engagement Team, Family Support, Sure Start, Sheffield Action Team, BUMP, Listen to Us, Adventure Playgroup, Community Wardens, Connextions, Burngreave Sports Network, New Deal Police Team, Burngreave Area Panel and Neighbourhood Renewal.
