Burngreave residents are getting ready to board a bus with a difference.
For a new Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) mobile exhibition vehicle will soon be seen out and about in the area attending local events and for use by community and voluntary groups at little or no cost.
The BNDfC Community Information Vehicle comes fully equipped with a stage area so shows and performances can be put on, it will go to events such as festivals, crime days and health information days so New Deal information can be given out. The vehicle will also be used for out-reach work with young people so youth workers can go out into the community and engage with youngsters on a one-to-one basis.
Rose Ardron, Chair of the BNDfC Partnership Board, launched the vehicle on Ellesmere Green, Burngreave and members of the local community were invited to attend to see the vehicle on show.
Mushall Khan, BNDfC Assistant Programmes Director, said: “We are delighted that this wonderful vehicle has now been launched for local people to make use of and enjoy – it’s certainly something we can all be proud of.
“Excitement about the vehicle’s arrival has been growing rapidly amongst the community and bookings have already been made. If anyone wants to get more information about the vehicle please visit us on the show day or contact the BNDfC Information Shop on 0114 292 0464,” she added.
