Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) has welcomed two new managers who are aiming to further drive forward the regeneration of the area.

Kate Hurley (28), from Doncaster, is BNDfC's new housing, crime and environment theme manager. She joins having gained regeneration experience with Groundwork Dearne Valley where she worked in partnership with Doncaster's New Deal for Communities programme.

Kate said: "I am really excited about my new role. Burngreave is such a vibrant area – you only have to walk around Ellesmere Green at lunchtime to see how much there is going on.

"I am particularly keen to start work in supporting many of the transformational projects that are underway in the area such as Vestry Hall and Sorby House, which are both very positive developments in the area.

“I will also be liaising with Sheffield City Council's regeneration team and local residents on the housing side to create development briefs for Catherine Street, Woodside and Ellesmere.”

Also joining the New Deal team is Sandra Greatorex (43), from Barnsley, who will be in charge of the over arching and health themes. She brings to BNDfC a wealth of regeneration experience having worked as a Pioneer Area Co-ordinator in Barnsley on a South Yorkshire wide capacity building project.

Sandra said: “A key aspect of my new role at BNDfC will involve helping to assist projects to secure alternative funding streams as the New Deal programme reaches its final five years. This will be done though continued work with focus groups and strategy groups to identify positive ways to move forward.”

John Clark, Chief Executive of BNDfC, said: “We are delighted that Kate and Sandra have joined our team – they have both worked in the regeneration sector for many years and bring with them a vast amount of experience. They have exactly the right credentials and expertise to help us build on the positive work that is already taking place within Burngreave.”
