Proposal Selection Process

After the Burngreave grant was in place, Garden Rooms invited experienced community artists to submit proposals to deliver the Creative Learning Events and the Creative Arts and Crafts Courses. This letter was sent out to Garden Rooms membership of practicing community artists and to Creative Burngreave’s database of Burngreave-based community artists.

From this, we received fourteen proposals from artists interested in delivering courses. Between Garden Rooms and ACL, a shortlist of seven proposals was selected. To ensure the final decision was made as democratically as possible within the short space of time, the choice for the four successful proposals was made by the team of outreach workers at the Burngreave Community Learning Project. As these workers were in close contact with adult learners living in Burngreave it was felt they had the best knowledge for selecting the right courses.
